This month’s Boss in the ’Burbs spotlight shines on a woman who knows how to steady the chaos.
Meet Laura Fink, a Master Certified Coach and Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings over 15 years of experience helping high-performing women step into their next level with clarity and confidence. Blending deep emotional insight with strategic coaching, Laura empowers executives, entrepreneurs, and leaders to break through internal barriers and build success that feels as good as it looks—both professionally and personally.
Can you share a little about your background?
I’m a Master Certified Coach (MCC) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 15 years of experience working with high-performing women leaders, business owners, and executives across the U.S. My background blends the depth of therapy with the forward momentum of coaching, allowing me to help clients both heal and take powerful, strategic action. I’ve been a therapist for families at risk, a leadership development trainer, and now a coach for Chief, a national women’s executive network.
What inspired you to start coaching?
I’ve always been drawn to transformation and the human potential for change. After years as a therapist, a client tragedy made me realize I needed a new way to serve—one that was forward-focused while still deeply compassionate. When I discovered coaching, I was struck by the power of the questions, the accountability, and the results it produced. I knew I had found the work I was meant to do. It just clicked.
What products and/or services do you offer?
I offer one-on-one executive coaching, leadership coaching for high-performing women, group programs, and transformational retreats. I also run masterminds for small businesses. My work often focuses on helping women in leadership remove mental and emotional blocks so they can create sustainable success in both their careers and personal lives. I utilize a wholistic approach to creating or reinventing any part of my clients’ lives.
What is the most challenging aspect of running your business?
One of the biggest challenges is making time to work on my business rather than just in it. I’m deeply invested in my clients’ success, so I have to be intentional about stepping back to focus on strategy, growth, and my own professional development. Also, marketing and visibility is important to maintain with a busy client practice.
What is the most valuable piece of advice you have received as an aspiring entrepreneur?
Your business will only grow as much as you do. The more you invest in your own growth—mentally, emotionally, and strategically—the more impact you can make.
